Pohorje battalion - Festival of peace

26.4.2014, members of partisan choir Pinko Tomažič from Trieste before the performance on the stage on Festival of Peace named Šarhov pohod (Šarhs march) on Pohorje.
Something about history: Pohorje battalion was thorn in german forces heel during second World War. They were trying to destroy so called bandits in several attempts but they failed untill the information from the traitors about battalions secret location. Pohorje battalion was fighting with 30 times stronger german forces and was destroyed after several hours of severe fighting. All fighters died. Among them was particularly heroic Alfonz Šarh who died at the end of the battle with his three sons Lojzek(16), Pepček(14) and Vanček(12). This festival is reminder of slovene fighting for freedom in second WW and reminder that peace is the greatest treasure of humanity.
